Water - Why Is it Important?

50 - 75% of a human's weight should be Water.


A daily intake of water is necessary as the human body can not store excess water.


Water is essential for:


Transporting Oxygen from the blood to the cells

Stabilising Body Temperature

Lubricating Joints & Organs

Helping the Kidney to function normally

Removing waste products


How much water do we need to drink each day?


This can range depending on activity levels, level of health, body composition, total body weight and dietary habits.


Every adult above the age of 18 should be drinking at least 1 -2 litres of water per day.


With most of my clients the main variable becomes their weight, if you weigh 80kg - 90kg, 3 litres per day becomes the standard, if you weigh above 90kg then 4 litres becomes the daily standard.


Now you maybe thinking, well currently i don't drink any where near that amount of water and I'm fine. Feeling fine and in optimal health are two different things.


If you're not drinking the amount mention above your are most likely closer to a dehydration state than you think. If your body knows no difference it might not know.


You will be surprised how much easier things are when your not dehydrated.


One of things your realise after regular drinking water is the difference it makes if you are without water. All of us a sudden your body feels the effect quicker. This is because your body has go used to feeling hydrated and the difference between your body being properly hydrated becomes more noticable.


If you from this moment forward you're going to drink more water. Then expect for the first week or so that you will piss like a race horse and a lot more frequently, this is your body not knowing how to hold on to the water and use it, your body will adapt within a week or so and the amount off toilet trips drop dramatically.


Get through that first week and you will start to notice how much better you feel, how much better your skin is and how much more energy you will feel like you have. Just be drinking more water.
